Monteserrat

Montserrat's tourism is now slowly returning, kept away since 1995 by volcanic activity. For years, two-thirds of the island was off-limits; many of its residents had to relocate.

Today Soufriere Hills has entered a quieter state and residents continue to live in the northern third of the island. Visitors arrive by ferry or helicopter from Antigua, most for the day.
