About Paris & John

For the past 20+ years, we’ve been professional writers, authoring over two dozen books as well as nearly 3,000 magazine articles for publications ranging from Reader’s Digest to Bridal Guide to Corporate Meetings and Incentives.

Specialties: Our work falls into two categories: pets (specifically cats and dogs) and travel. Our travel writing focuses on the Caribbean (especially Jamaica) and Texas as well as the niche markets of romantic travel, business travel, and the meetings/incentive industry.

Web Publishing: We publish four niche websites. For travelers, we publish Lovetripper.com and TexasTripper.com. Lovetripper began in 2000 and today contains over 10,000 pages devoted to romantic travel and destination weddings worldwide. TexasTripper, launched in 2006, features travel in the Lone Star State. For pet lovers, we publish DogTipper.com and CatTipper.com. Both pet sites feature news, product reviews, giveaways, and more. We have worked with numerous pet brands on special promotions including Pedigree, Sam’s Club, FURminator, and others.

Professional Memberships: We are both professional members of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW).

Professional Speaking Engagements: Paris has spoken on blog monetization at BlogPaws (Columbus, Ohio), pet book publishing at BarkWorld Expo (Atlanta, coming Sept. 2011), working with public relations firms at the Society of American Travel Writers Conference (Bangkok). Paris and John both spoke on working with online media at a national PRSA conference (Fort Lauderdale).

Custom Work: Along with our work for traditional publishers, we’ve also done a great deal of writing for custom publishers, authoring numerous in-cabin books for Carnival Cruise Lines as well as articles for in-room magazines for Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts, and many cruise lines.

Awards: Our guidebooks have won several awards including Best Regional Guide by the Mid-America Publishers Association for Texas Barbecue and Best Romantic Travel Book by the Austin Chronicle readers’ poll for Texas Getaways for Two. We won the “Best Travel Feature” award by San Antonio Women in Communication three years in a row.
